DIVISIONS
Grade based divisions shall be used in both girls and boys divisions for the following: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th grade, 10th grade, Varsity.
Since 1997, the RUMBLE in the BRONX in New York City has long been recognized as one of the nation’s premiere youth summer basketball tournaments.
Annually, over (250) teams, representing all parts of the country, participated in the RUMBLE in the BRONX tournament.
In order to compete in RUMBLE in the BRONX events, ALL players must be verified. To become verified, players must come with a copy of their most recent report card which includes date of birth (if no date of birth, please bring both report card AND copy of birth certificate).

4th Grade: To compete at the 4th grade level athletes must be enrolled in the 4th grade and can’t turn 11 until after June 16, 2024.
5th Grade: To compete at the 5th grade level athletes must be enrolled in the 5th grade and can’t turn 12 until after June 16, 2024.
6th Grade: To compete at the 6th grade level athletes must be enrolled in the 6th grade and can’t turn 13 until after June 16, 2024.
7th Grade: To compete at the 7th grade level athletes must be enrolled in the 7th grade and can’t turn 14 until after June 16, 2024.
8th Grade: To compete at the 8th grade level athletes must be enrolled in the 8th grade and can’t turn 15 until after June 16, 2024.
9th Grade: To compete at the 9th grade level athletes must currently be enrolled in 9th grade at an accredited high school or preparatory school. The player must also be eligible under the National High School Federation Rules.
10th Grade: To compete at the 10th grade level athletes must currently be enrolled in 10th grade at an accredited high school or preparatory school. The player must also be eligible under the National High School Federation Rules.
Varsity: To compete at the varsity level athletes can be no older than 19 on August 31, 2024. An athlete must also currently be enrolled at an accredited high school or preparatory school. The player must also be eligible under the National High School Federation Rules.
*Challenges MUST occur BEFORE the game* Coaches must have a copy of their roster (printed or digital) at all times at RITB events including player name, number, and date of birth as well as appropriate age verification information (birth certificates and report cards). In order to challenge another team a coach must have copies of their roster and age verification information for all of their players. Players who are found to be illegal will be ejected immediately, their coach will also be assessed a technical foul per player proven to be ineligible. Coaches are only allowed to challenge up to 3 players on the opposing team. If more than 1 player is proven illegal, a forfeit is assessed and the team is ineligible to advance. If the challenging coach is incorrect, he/she will be assessed a technical foul *more than one incorrect challenge will result in ejection*
**Age exception: team containing a player that falls outside of the age boundary but is in the appropriate grade of competition within one year. All age exception requests must be submitted to RITB in writing at least 5 days prior to the event. Without written approval from RITB, the requested age exception will not be honored. Any team with an age exception player must play in the A division.
