RITB TOURNAMENT RULES

National Federation of High School rules with the following exceptions:

CLOCK: 13U – 17U — 16 minute halves. Clock stops on all whistles.

9U – 12U — 14 minute halves. Clock stops on all whistles.

** THE HOME TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OFFICIAL SCOREKEEPER AND GAME BALL

BONUS: 10th team foul. RITB plays “RELEASE” on foul shots.

DOUBLE BONUS: 13th team foul.

TIMEOUTS: 1 full and 1 :30 timeout awarded each half. (TIMEOUTS DO NOT CARRY)

(1) :30 timeout will be awarded for each overtime period.

MERCY RULE: In play when there is a 20 Point lead with 3 minutes left. The clock runs or the game will be stopped.

** RITB STAFF DISCRETION **

HALFTIME: 3 minutes (time permitting)

OVERTIME: 1st overtime – 2:00 2nd overtime – 1:00 3rd overtime – 1st basket wins playoffs – all OT’s 2:00

FORFEITS– 15 minutes after scheduled start time.

** ALL FORFEITS FOR FRIDAY’S 6:00 PM GAMES WILL BE AT THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS

DISCRETION **

TECHNICAL FOULS: If a player or coach receives 2 technical fouls and is ejected from

the game, they (player or coach) will AUTOMATICALLY sit out the next scheduled game. NO exceptions!

DISQUALIFICATION: Anyone disqualified for fighting or exhibiting conduct resulting in an ejection from a game will be automatically banned from the tournament.

RITB is an AGE based tournament (see below).

Teams not compliant will automatically forfeit their games. NO EXCEPTIONS!

TEAMS / PROGRAMS, PLAYERS OR COACHES ARE SUBJECT TO RITB TOURNAMENT

AGE BASED COMPETITION RULES:

7U – An athlete can be no older than 7 on August 31, 2017.

8U – An athlete can be no older than 8 on August 31, 2017.

9U – An athlete can be no older than 9 on August 31, 2017.

10U – An athlete can be no older than 10 on August 31, 2017.

11U – An athlete can be no older than 11 on August 31, 2017.

12U – An athlete can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2017.

13U – An athlete can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2017.

14U – An athlete can be no older than 14 on August 31, 2017.

15U/9TH GRADE – An athlete can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 9th Grade as of October 1, 2016 and who is no older than 16 on August 31, 2017

16U/10TH GRADE – An athlete can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 10th Grade as of October 1, 2016 and who is no older than 17 on August 31, 2017

17U/11TH GRADE – An athlete can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 11th Grade as of October 1, 2016 and who is no older than 18 on August 31, 2017

19U/12TH GRADE – An athlete can be no older than 19 on August 31, 2017. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 12th Grade as of October 1, 2016 and who is no older than 20 on August 31, 2017

GIRLS

8TH GRADE DIVISION

An athlete must be in the8th grade as of October 1, 2016and can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2017.

9TH GRADE DIVISION

An athlete must be in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2016 and can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2017.

10TH GRADE DIVISION

An athlete must be in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2016 and can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2017.

11TH GRADE DIVISION

An athlete must be in the 11th grade as of October 1, 2016 and can be no older than 18 on August 31, 2017.
