RITB 2018 TOURNAMENT RULES

** Participation Eligibility:

Boys —  “Grade” based  (see below)
Girls –    “Grade”  based  (see below)

**  Pool Tie Breakers:   1)  2 teams  –  Head to Head     2)   3 or more  –  point differential (excluding the winless team) 15 pt max for wins.

National Federation of High School rules with the following exceptions:

13U – 17U — 16 minute halves. Clock stops on all whistles.
9U – 12U — 14 minute halves. Clock stops on all whistles.

** HOME TEAM PROVIDES OFFICIAL SCOREKEEPER & GAME BALL

Fouls

BONUS: 10th team foul. RITB plays “RELEASE” on foul shots.

DOUBLE BONUS: 13th team foul.

TIMEOUTS:

(1) full and (1) :30 timeout awarded each half. (Timeouts don’t carry)
(1) :30 timeout will be awarded for each overtime period.

MERCY RULE:

The clock will run in the second half when a team has a lead of
20 points or more. The game will be called at 2 minutes. (** if 20 point advantage)

HALFTIME:

2 minutes (time permitting)

OVERTIME:

1st OT – 2:00

2nd OT – 1:00

3rd OT- 1st basket wins

Playoffs – 1st OT – 2:00 2nd OT – 1:00 and for any additional OT period

FORFEITS:

15 minutes after scheduled start time.

TECHNICAL FOULS:

If a player or coach receives 2 technical fouls and is ejected from the game, they (player or coach) will AUTOMATICALLY sit out the next scheduled game. NO exceptions!

DISQUALIFICATION:

Anyone disqualified for fighting or exhibiting conduct resulting in an ejection from a game will be automatically banned from the tournament. Teams not compliant will automatically forfeit their games. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Teams, players and coaches are subject to an RITB tournament ban for a minimum of 1 year!

RUMBLE in the BRONX is a GRADE based tournament

GRADE BASED COMPETITION RULES:

5TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 5th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2018.

6TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 6th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2018.

7TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 7th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 14 on August 31, 2018.

8TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 8th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2018.

9TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 9th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2018.

10TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 10th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2018.

11TH GRADE – An athlete must be in the 11th grade or below as of October 1, 2017 and can be no older than 18 on August 31, 2018.

** Teams must be able to make available on demand for all participating players:

1) Valid birth certificate 2) Semester report card

PROTESTS:

All protests must be submitted in writing and with $100 cash before your scheduled playing time. RITB will not accept protests AFTER a completed game or loss. The protesting teams deposit will be refunded only if the protest is upheld. TEAMS! Failure to produce at least ONE of these documents will result in an automatic player disqualification and the team forfeiting all games in which the disqualified player participated.
ALL final decisions will be made by the tournament site director.
